Show #037 Our guests will be...

Acoustic duo...

GRANITE PEACH

Music has always been Kathryn Sabol’s passion. “A singer from the age of 2,” as her mother tells it, Kathryn began studying voice in high school. She went on to earn a B. A. in Music from The University of Georgia and an M.A. in Vocal Performance from The New England Conservatory of Music. She has performed several operas and countless concerts in New England and her home state of Georgia.

After taking some time off from singing to start a family, Kathryn's put the classical world aside for now to explore "pop" music. When she isn't singing you can find her at home with her husband and her 5-year-old son. She greatly enjoys spending time with family and friends, crafting, interior design, and making old things look new again.

Mark Timney is an award-winning journalist and educator. He's been a Professor of Journalism at Keene State College since 2001 and has an M.S. in Journalism and a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Ohio University.

Mark's been involved with music since he was in elementary school, but didn't start playing guitar seriously until he was 40. If he's not working or making music you can probably find him attempting another extreme sport for which he is too old.

Doug’s songwriting is shaped by his artisan carpenter eye, the ear of a poet, and the heart of an artist. His songs, ranging from humorous to dark, are simple yet deceptively layered with nuance, wit, and substance that render them easy to hear and hard to forget.

Doug has been a finalist in the New England Songwriting Competition at the Ossipee Valley Music Festival, receiving an honorable mention for his song “Spirit Man”. He has also earned first place in the New England Songwriting Competition at Dreamsicle Studio and at Simple Gifts Coffeehouse songwriting contest. He has been featured at songwriters-in-the-rounds, listening rooms, coffeehouses, benefits, festivals, and concert stages throughout the region.
